“Our collection of Countryside films in the South Pennines”

A journey on the Rochdale Canal from Manchester to Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire, this film produced in 2001 takes the viewer on the “Everest” of canals over the Pennine Chain of hills in the North of England.

Produced in 2002 “A Walk on t’Long Cut” is a walk on the longest man made waterway in Britain namely the Leeds and Liverpool canal between Leeds and East Marton near Skipton

Bronte Ways Part 1 was produced in 2003 and follows the Bronte Way footpath beginning at Oakwell Hall at Birstall near Leeds in West Yorkshire to the ancient village of Haworth.

The Bronte Ways Part 2 begins with a more thorough look at the Bronte family’s village of Haworth and traversing the Pennines ending at Gawthorpe Hall near Burnley in Lancashire.

Produced in 2005 this film follows the Mary Towneley Loop a  48 mile spur walk off the Pennine Bridleway which is a circular long distance trail incorporating  Lancashire and Yorkshire on the outskirts of Rochdale, Calderdale, Rossendale and Burnley.

Produced in 2008 this film describes the many moods of Hardcastle Crags throughout the year showing how it changes over the seasons and is one of the most beautiful and romantic valleys in the North of England which is visited each year by thousands of tourists.

Produced in 2010 this film uses the fifty-mile circular walk “The Calderdale Way” to reveal the spectacular and varied landscape of the Calder Valley. The trail winds literally uphill and down dale tracing historic routes high on the Pennine moors between Brighouse and Todmorden.

Produced in 2012  ‘Halifax, Past, Present and Future.’ captures the rich history of Halifax from early medieval times to the present day, the film focuses on unique buildings such as the Minster, Piece Hall, Town Hall and Square Chapel.

Produced in 2013 ‘The Shibden Valley’ is the first in a series of films entitled ‘The Valleys of Calderdale,’ which celebrate the picturesque landscape of those valleys branching off from the main Calder Valley.

Produced in 2014 ‘Ripponden and Ryburn Valley’ is the second in their series of films, ’The Valleys of Calderdale’ which celebrate the wonderful scenery of those valleys which branch off from the main Calder valley.

Produced in 2015 "The Luddenden Valley" is the third in the series "The Valleys of Calderdale" which celebrate the wonderful scenery of those valleys which branch off from the main Calder Valley.

Produced in 2016 "Mytholmroyd & Cragg Vale" is the Fourth in the series "The Valleys of Calderdale" which celebrate the wonderful scenery of those valleys which branch off from the main Calder Valley.

Produced in 2017/18 “Hebden Bridge - A Milltown Reborn” takes a look at this fascinating town in Calderdale, which has transformed itself from a mill town to a modern tourist centre.

Produced in 2018, this film traces the river Colden from it’s source in Noah Dale to Lumb Bank before looking at the ancient village of Heptonstall positioned high on the hill above Hebden Bridge.

‘My Calderdale’ continues the tradition of previous films with splendid footage of the Calderdale area, but this time including new and stunning drone footage. Added to this, are the wonderful stories of fourteen Calderdale characters telling their fascinating tales of ‘My Calderdale’. Filmed in 2020 during the Covid-19 crisis, this film is the tonic designed to lift everyone’s spirits.
